Swisse Ultiboost Hunger Control review, is it really effective?

Swisse-Ultiboost-Hunger-ControlThis diet pill, manufactured in Australia by Swisse Wellness, contains just one active ingredient – Slimaluma – which is claimed to be a very effective appetite suppressant.

An important strength of this product is that it appears to cause few side effects. The question is, does it really help encourage weight loss?

Does it work?

The single active ingredient in Swisse Ultiboost Hunger Control is Slimaluma, a patented extract from the cactus, Caralluma fimbriata, which is native to India.

Apparently the cactus was used by tribesmen to stave off hunger whilst hunting for food in bygone times. This product is organic and contains no caffeine or other stimulant. The manufacturer’s website advises, unsurprisingly, that the product is most likely to be effective if combined with healthy eating and regular exercise.

Users are advised to take one tablet twice each day half an hour before eating. In addition to Slimaluma, the tablet contains Ribloflavin, a vitamin B2 supplement which may offer some health benefit to users, but will not help them to lose weight.

Two clinical trials have been conducted to test the effectiveness of Slimaluma, one in India and the second in the US. Each was a double-blind, randomised, placebo controlled trial. Both studies showed that participants who took Slimaluma lost more weight, reduced BMI, body fat and waist circumference more significantly than the placebo groups. Participants who used Slimaluma were also statistically less hungry than those taking a placebo.

Adverse effects were noted both by a small number of participants taking Slimaluma and by those taking a placebo. Those reported were mild in nature, consisting of moderate acidity, mild constipation and some flatulence.

These clinical trials indicate that Caralluma fimbriata may well have a role to play in aiding weight loss since it appears to reduce hunger; those participants whose hunger was controlled by Slimaluma lost more weight. The research also suggests that this extract is safe, and unlikely to cause any serious adverse effects to users.

It should be noted that the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has rejected the application of Gencor Pacific Inc, the Californian manufacturers of Slimaluma, to allow the company to publish its claims for the product. The EFSA ruled that the company had failed to prove that Slimaluma was effective in reducing body fat, weight, waist circumference or calorific intake. Although EFSA accepted that the product was beneficial in suppressing appetite, they concluded that reduced appetite did not lead to a reduction in food intake.

  • Swisse Wellness is a reputable manufacturer which has specialised in developing dietary supplements for the last fifty years; its Ultiboost product range has been marketed since 2000 and is well-established.
  • Clinical trials suggest that Slimaluma (Caralluma fimbriata) may be an effective appetite suppressant and could have an important role to play in weight reduction programmes.
  • The same clinical trials indicate that Swisse Ultiboost Hunger Control is a safe product for users.
  • The product is endorsed by Nicole Kidman and Ricky Ponting.

  • Despite the promising clinical trials which prove the effectiveness of Slimaluma as an appetite suppressant, more research is needed before its value as a weight-loss tool can be established.
  • This product is not cheap, retailing at $38.95 for 30 tablets or $46.45 for 50, which equates to around $60 a month.
Swisse Wellness offer no money-back guarantee to dissatisfied customers.

What are the customers saying about it – customer complaints

As with many diet pills, opinion is mixed: some customers report that the product significantly controls hunger, which helps to reduce calorific intake painlessly; others have been disappointed that their appetite has not been suppressed and they have lost no weight.

Is Swisse Ultiboost Hunger Control worth buying?

Certainly this product does show merit as an appetite suppressant, although to what extent is unclear.

Due to the fact there is no metabolism-boosting aspect to this diet supplement, results are going to be slow unless lots of exercise is added. Its effectiveness as a weight loss aid will only be determined by how many calories this product will help cut from your daily intake.

For $60 a month, the advice is to choose a supplement which not only cuts cravings, but also stimulates the metabolism and encourages fat burning.

Other options to consider – Phen375

phen375-customer-reviewsFrom all the feedback we have received over the years, the general theme has been that dual-action (both fat burning and appetite suppressing) diet pills offer the greatest chance at long term success.

One of the very best of these is Phen375, a vastly popular natural slimming aid which has a huge backing from those who have tried it. Although manufactured in the USA, it remains Australia’s most frequently purchased diet pill.
